Betty Chirabo was born on May 15, 2015. Betty Chirabo is a cheerful and kind-hearted young girl who lights up when she plays netball with her friends. But unlike them, Betty doesn’t go to school. She spends her days at home taking care of her younger siblings and only gets to play when the neighborhood children return from class. Behind her bright smile is a deep sadness. When you speak to her, she shares how much she longs to be in school. Betty dreams of becoming a counselor one day—to support children who, like her, face difficult challenges at a young age.
