Byansi Isabirye was born on June 3, 2012. At just 13 years old, Byansi Isabirye carries responsibilities far beyond his years. Every morning, he wakes up early to work as a sugar cane cutter in a nearby plantation, returning home late in the day with the little money he earns—just enough to help feed his younger siblings. After his parents separated, Byansi’s mother left him in the care of his grandmother and never returned. With no one else to rely on, he has stepped into the role of provider at an age when he should be in school, learning and playing like any other child.
