Rahma Nakalembe was born on January 18, 2020. Rahma is a warm and friendly young girl who loves being around others, especially when she’s at church learning songs in Sunday school. Her smile lights up when she talks about her dreams of becoming a nurse one day—to care for others and bring comfort to those in need. But behind her bright spirit lies a difficult reality. Rahma comes from a family with an abusive father who spends his days drinking and does not provide for his wife or children. Her mother works hard to raise Rahma and her four siblings alone, but despite her efforts and deep desire to keep Rahma in school, she simply cannot afford it.
